Nice country pub to enjoy a Sunday roast with friends, the fire was burning when we arrived which gave the place a homely and relaxing feel. The roast chicken was lovely, nice big Yorkshire pudding and a generous serving of 4 roast potatoes. However, the vegetables were very disappointing and let the overall meal down. For pudding we had an Eton mess meringue and chocolate brownie, both were very tasty. The service was a little slow at times but the place was busy (always a good sign) which would explain why. Also be warned the car park surface is terrible and not suitable for low cars or elderly / people with mobility difficulties.

A very enjoyable Halloween night with a singer and good food. The weather was perfect as we all sat outside and the rain stayed away! Firepits, marshmallows and hot chocolate. What more could you ask for 🎃👹💀

Lovely place for Sunday roast, good portion sizes, we had Camembert to share, 2 people had the super roast, 1 beef and I had chicken. Chicken was lovely and soft. The pork on the super roast was the best overall. Only thing we didn’t like was the cauliflower cheese. Staff could have been a bit more attentive but overall we enjoyed our visit

Lovely pub in the middle of the countryside and just an hour away from London, making a good option for a city break.
Came as a large group and had a generous lunch.
Overall I would say the quality of food was high however a few things lowered the average a bit.
For the prices we paid (considering this is not a pub in central london either) we received a really small portion of really dry and tasteless pork. Scratching were the hardest I had in a long time.
Truffle fries were an extortion.
We ended up paying 60£ per person and I don’t think the quality was there to reason the price.
Overall a good pub, but overpriced.

A confusing place.
The good:
- Lovely old pub, lots of character
- veg curry delicious
- tasty fish cakes
The bad:
- Dreadful carpark surface, very rough. Not low car or old people friendly.
- Mix up with orders meant our food took an hour to come for the adult meals.
- No veg at all with any of the mains we had. Must need to order it separately.
- Chicken noodle dish was covered in mayo and chicken was over cooked and dry. Mono flavoured dish. Also it was enormous, despite being on the "lighter bites" section.
- Meat in the pie was also rather overcooked but in small enough pieces to still be edible.
