I love this hotel. The rooms are nice and do the job well. They get 4/5. Plenty of parking. But the food and waiting staff are what really make it shine. 5/5! Breakfast and dinner were fantastic on both days. The service was brilliant and the food was delicious- very good chefs and a shout out to the fabulous guy (maybe French?) in charge of breakfast service.
I rarely leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience. From the moment I arrived, the customer service at this hotel was shockingly poor The manager on duty was dismissive when I expressed my concerns. Instead of apologizing or offering any kind of solution, they just shrugged and acted like I was being unreasonable. Overall, this hotel desperately needs to retrain their staff on how to treat paying guests with even basic courtesy. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
Lovely experience here. Stayed here for three nights as a technician for an event and was impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel. The food was spectacular in the morning, cooked breakfast really nice! I also had a bit of a disappointing moment where I had asked for them to store some food in the fridge overnight, the food went lost; but, the manager kindly reimbursed me with a complimentary sandwich! Thankyou for resolving this peacefully and with grace and for a lovely stay!
Spent 4 nights here visiting family in Chelmsford, we were made very welcome on arrival by reception and waitress in the breakfast room was really professional and made us feel at home nothing was to much trouble. Our room was spacious and clean and quite. We will be definitely staying again when visiting family.
We recently hosted an event at County Hotel. I couldn't recommend it more for anyone wanting to host a special event in the heart of Chelmsford. The staff were very friendly, they were supportive discussing our needs before the event, the space looked great and the food surpassed expectation. Thank you!
