Just had an absolutely divine takeaway from Kaani Kaana and I’m still dreaming about that Lamb Bhuna – rich, flavourful, and downright majestic. Even the rice, which you might assume would be a basic sidekick, was giving main character energy – tasty tasty, not a grain out of place!
Now, I know Chelmsford town centre isn’t exactly short on takeaway options… but this place? This place might just snatch the crown. The food was high quality, full of flavour, not swimming in grease (hallelujah), and clearly made with care.
And can we talk about the vibe? Their takeaway shop had me feeling like I’d accidentally walked into a spa. I was about two minutes away from asking for a hot stone massage while waiting for my order.
Special shoutout to Jelena behind the counter – an absolute superstar! Polite, smiling, attentive, and just the warmest welcome you could ask for. Honestly, if Michelin stars were given out for takeaways, they’d be hanging one up already.
If I lived any closer, I’d be in there dangerously often. But for all you lucky locals – don’t even think about going anywhere else. These guys are the curry kings!

We placed an order for the first time yesterday as it was my husbands birthday. The lady who took the order was so friendly and said she would call when almost ready to collect. My daughter went into collect and was asked if it was a first time order and she said yes it was to celebrate her Dads birthday. She was asked his name and a card was written and a piece of delicious chocolate cake put in a box with a birthday greeting. How thoughtful and what a kind gesture.
The food was absolutely delicious and it tasted so fresh and you could tell the ingredients were quality. I loved the cardboard packaging too.
We all agreed it was the best Indian/Bangladeshi meal we’d had.
Thank you. Tasty food and excellent customer service is a rare thing these days. We have been recommending to lots of people already.

The most incredible takeaway food, topped off with outstanding service at pick up with free chai tea. The team were so sweet and chucked in some freebies as we were really indecisive. Everything tasted so authentic and delicious - easily the best food in Chelmsford.

Genuinly the best bangladeshi/indian takeaway ive ever had, and its been right under my nose for years!
The food was incredible, and going in to the front of house, the staff were super friendly throughout and offered drinks whilst we wait. My pal had a chai tea which he loved which was given to him whilst he waited.
The decor inside is so homey and cosy, the place is clean and just adds to the admosphere, this is no regular takeaway, this is an experience!
Most definately going in again! See you soon Kaani Kaana!

Different level, Authentic Indian food, by far the best Indian takeaway in Chelmsford. Quality ingredients, fresh, packed with flavour. My favourites so far, the tender lamb and the tandoori king prawns.
