Quite a big market, but outdated, a lot of the stalls have little of interest. Second hand day on Thursday is worth a look. There is however a great Jamaican food guy in there, much better goat curry than turtle Bay.

Great market. Not been since late 80's and surprisingly in my mind it remains unchanged. Still a brilliant market. Something for everyone.

Today I found this little gem for a latte and fresh croissant at a good price
It's tucked away down towards the meat stall
Italian lady making fresh breads and rolls and pizza too,the premises are exceptionally clean and when the bread comes from the oven the aroma is delightful:
There are a couple of tables and chairs to sit inside if you prefer or you can take away.
I bought a tiger loaf and it was so fresh and delicious ,I will definitely be returning for another coffee and try a soda bread loaf next time:
The lady makes fresh pizza panini's and either lasagna or tortellini to eat in or take away all very tasty

Always pop in here when I'm in town. Generally have hotdog from Swales and pick up a few things from the food stalls ( like some lovely cheese from thr Lye Valley stall).

Okay, much better than say Colchester's so called market, with it's half dozen or so stalls. But not worth making any great effort to go there. On the plus side it's mainly indoors.
