I was going to mark them down, for not being able to buy a discounted ticket online on the day, before 12 noon. However, this is a lovely, friendly place to visit. The main stand offers a good view offer the pitch but there are 12 lanes of running track between the stand and the pitch. Standing at the back of the small stand opposite seemed to give me a better view, with only 8 running track lanes and no dugouts in the way. There is a good ramp up to an elevated stand for people who have walking difficulties. However, the dugouts do obscure the view in part. The stands behind the goals offer must closer views of the action.

Booked tickets online but can pay at the gate if needed. There's a large car park out the front but this was full when I arrived, plenty of parking in neighbouring roads though. The pitch itself is surrounded by a running track, there's a big stand which seemed too far from the pitch and a couple of smaller stands behind the goals. Temporary fences up to keep supporters off the pitch but there is a couple of spots where you can stand and be close to the pitch. One advantage is that everything is flat so a lot more suited to wheelchair users compared to other grounds in the league.

Friendly staff, nice big clubhouse and lots of facilities for food/drinks/toilets etc. Not a bad place to watch football when behind the goals just a shame the running track lets it down. It feels like you are there for athletics with the shotput net in the way too. Have been multiple times following Worthing away, always makes it better with last minute winners! Any visiting fan, plenty of parking too.

22/2/20 Chelmsford City 1-1 Slough Town at Melbourne Stadium in the Vanarama National League South. Adult entry £13 (bought online otherwise its £15 which is too much), 16 years £5 (no discount online offered, bizarre), Programme £3 (most expensive but it’s good quality), Chips £2.50 (portion is small for the amount you pay). Not the greatest of places to go and watch a football match. The running track around the pitch nullifies any attempt to make some atmosphere. There are a few seats in the ‘stand’ opposite the main stand. The main stand itself is enormous and is too far away from the pitch. Behind the goals at one end is a small covered box terrace, the other end is open to the elements, and yesterday it was very windy. Parking is also a problem as there simply isn’t enough spaces although it is free. The bar is excellent and the food on offer is what you would expect but overpriced. The volunteers are helpful and friendly and a credit to the club. I would recommend that you only go if you have to!! UPDATE 23/4/22 Third visit. Chelmsford City 1-1 Slough Town. I have taken off another star because today one of our supporters was denied access to the ground with his snare drum due to some stupid council bylaw. It beggars belief that you would be stopped bringing something along to try and create some atmosphere. This place is a soulless bowl!! I only visit because I have to. The volunteers and staff were happy and helpful as they normally are. The only plus point.

On this level a nice stadium, but as a football supporter you dont like the running track around the pitch. Great social bar and clubshop.
