I genuinely can’t recommend Bitten by Ink in Chelmsford enough. Tony is not only incredibly approachable, but also one of the most honest and professional tattoo artists I’ve ever come across. His attention to detail is spot on, and he made me feel completely welcomed from the very beginning — nothing was ever too much.
I’d called around several places in Chelmsford about getting finger tattoos, and most shops were either rude or simply refused to do them. When I spoke to Tony, he was completely honest — he explained that finger tattoos can be tricky and may not always heal perfectly, but he was happy to do it. The results were fantastic. Out of all the fingers, only one has a tiny faded spot — literally something that would take two minutes to fix. It’s an easy touch-up, and I appreciated his transparency from the start.
The pricing was more than fair, especially considering the quality. I’ve recently moved from London where studios would’ve quoted me 10 times the price for the same work. With Tony, it wasn’t just about the tattoo — it was about the experience, and feeling looked after.

I’ve been here 3 times now just finished my calf piece and I can honestly say I can’t think of going to any other tattoo artist.
The work is always done with immense detail and Tony is just such an amazing guy good conversation and it never feels awkward absolutely amazing here !

I'm now on my third tattoo at Bitten by ink, the 1st by Tony which was a cover up and enhancement of an existing tattoo, and saying enhancement doesn't do it justice, Tony completely transformed it.
The 2nd and 3rd have both been done by Sarah, her design work and execution are flawless, she's a young artist who I think has an amazing career in front of her, the 1st from her flash wall with an addition of script and the 2nd I had an idea and Sarah designed it perfectly and it looks fantastic.
I'm already booked with Tony for an Orca which he is designing and then Sarah has some more designs I have seen that will be next.
If you are in Chelmsford and like great ink then I would recommend paying them a visit, you won't be disappointed.

At 55yrs old had my first tattoo done by Tony. I don’t know why I didn’t do it years ago, he made the whole process easy from booking in to actually completing it and advising on aftercare . Couldn’t recommend him enough, definitely not my last one.
