Amazing food! Lovely venue. We booked for 6:30 and we were only ones there for half hour, but at 7 things picked up and it became busy. Lovely food throughout, we enjoyed everything we had. Worth the money. I think most of beers were from bottle though, but local beers provided, so not bothered!

We had the pleasure of celebrating our Christmas party at this wonderful independent restaurant and we couldn’t be more impressed!
The staff were absolutely fantastic—efficient, attentive, and genuinely caring. They made sure all our dietary needs were catered for without a hitch, which was greatly appreciated by everyone in the group.
As for the food—simply amazing! Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.
A huge thank you to the team for making our evening so special. This place is a gem, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking for great food and exceptional service.

The New London is a lovely setting, service is always very good - professional, friendly and helpful without being intrusive.
We had the crab and scallops to start. Crab was only ok - could have been hotter and included more than 1 ravioli, it also felt like something was missing.
The scallops however were amazing - absolutely stunning; everything on the plate had an impact. Definitely a must!
Another must and we were frustrated we hadn't tried before was the Chateaubriand - delicious and more than enough sides served with it.
We would have loved to try desserts but we had no room after the main!
We'll definitely be back for the scallops and Chateaubriand!

One of the best restaurants I have been to. Opted for set menu for 2 people, loved each and every dish. Wonderfully presented and tasted even better. Surprisingly we were the only ones in the restaurant when we walked in on a Thursday afternoon. Highly recommended in Chelmsford. Cheers.

I took my partner to the new london restaurant in Chelmsford for her birthday on Saturday. I wanted to try the restaurant as it had an A la carte menu and also a plant based menu as my partner is vegetarian. The lady that Greeted us as we came in was very cheerful and friendly, which made a great start to the evening but I'm afraid the Friendliness ended there as the gentleman that served us throughout the night was far from friendly and did not make us feel welcome at all. Apart from the unfriendliness, he was very slow, and at one point we tried to order another drink before we left, but we just gave up trying and just asked for the bill and left,
So
Food 8 out of 10 as both meals were not as hot as they should have been.
Service 6 out of 10.
The Atmosphere 9 out of 10.
Over all 6 out of 10 Due to the man that served us and made us feel very unwelcome.
