Nestled next to the museum, Oaklands Park stands out as a beacon of recreation and enjoyment in Chelmsford. What sets it apart is its thoughtful design, featuring not one, but two playgrounds tailored to different age groups. With a dedicated area for small kids up to age 6 and another for older children up to age 12, every visit promises a diverse range of activities and adventures.
Living just next door, Oaklands Park has become an integral part of our daily routine. My son and I eagerly anticipate our visits, knowing that regardless of the season, there's always something special to experience. From the vibrant energy of summer days to the serene charm of winter afternoons, the park's flexible timings ensure that families can enjoy its offerings year-round.
Beyond its playgrounds, Oaklands Park boasts sprawling green spaces perfect for picnics, leisurely strolls, or simply basking in nature's beauty. It's a sanctuary where memories are made, friendships blossom, and the joys of childhood are celebrated. As a parent, witnessing my son's laughter and excitement amidst the park's enchanting ambiance reaffirms Oaklands Park's status as one of Chelmsford's premier destinations for families.

Very much a locals park, not that far from the town centre. Small park which is perfect for dog walking and children's play areas. Lovely cafe for a drink and bite to eat. The museum is worth a look. Shame that the council now charge for the tennis courts.

Very well maintained gardens with plenty of landmarks ands what i presume is free to use facilities like the park and tennis court. People found their way into the court anyway. Dog friendly, family friendly, couples friendly, walking friendly. Ill come again when the museums open.

Nice open space ideal for dog walks. The kids playground is good here too. Some handy picnic benches if needed. Plenty of parking. The excellent free museum is well worth a look with some great exhibits on Marconi, military history, toys and animals.
