This was my first visit to Rumour Hair, and I couldn’t fault them! the salon, was so friendly, and welcoming, right from when I walked through the door with a friendly smile, I instantly felt at ease and I can speak from experience not many salons have made me feel like that! I had my appointment with Mia today, and she did such an amazing job! (Pics to follow) She was kind, professional and knowledgeable, we sat down and had a really good chat about my hair, what I wanted and my expectations,she gave her professional opinion and what she thought would be best for me after not long having a baby and my hair feeling lifeless and dull! She then offered a drink,(not to unusual) but wow the presentation of the drink on a tray, with a mini mince pie! It felt like such a special treat! Mia applied my colour and I was left to chill and because the salon atmosphere was so great I really did chill (and not having my baby with me for a few hours) I felt great! Mia suggested a treatment in the consultation, which I agreed my hair needed, I was given the most amazing head massage with the treatment! Mia then cut and styled my hair, and it was perfect! I’ve never been to a salon before where someone has just got me and what I wanted! I was given a goodie bag after paying which contained samples of shampoo and conditioner Mia suggested for my hair and the best part was a mini bottle of Prosecco!! I honestly can’t tell express how special I was made to feel and how happy I am! She has made me feel me again! Keep up the good work Mia and the Rumour team!!
I have been coming to Rumours for about 9 months now, so roughly 5 times. Mia has been my hairdresser and always listens to my requests, gives an honest opinion and explains how the end result will look realistically. She has given me the best haircut I've probably had and maintained it. My hair when I first began going to rumours was not in the best condition due to bleach highlights. Mia rightly refused to bleach my hair anymore until it was in better condition which it now is. I had highlights put back in (as I feel at my best when my hair is lighter) and I absolutely love it. So thank you Mia for being a trustworthy and honest hair dresser and helping me get my hair in lovely condition and giving me a lovely colour. I also have to mention she is the best at washing hair and giving a fab head massage! The salon itself is also a friendly atmosphere. No uncomfortable conversations between staff about other staff members which I have experienced in many other salons. I also have to mention a drink is offered several times and always presented with a lovely touch, on a tray with a glass of water and a biscuit or cake etc. Getting your hair done in any salon doesn't come cheap these days so it is important to get what you're paying for and enjoy the experience and atmosphere, which, at Rumours you do, in abundance!
I was a new client at Rumour salon and had a cut and balayage booked in over the weekend. I'm not local to Chelmsford and traveled over an hour to reach the salon. Unfortunately, I'm very dissatisfied with my service. I've had balayage many times before and have been dyeing my hair for years, but unfortunately, this is not the service I expected nor what I asked for from my stylist. I do enjoy the haircut- it is exactly what I asked for and cannot fault anything there. The colour has very bright blonde streaks placed very prominently, when I never asked for blonde- I had showed photos that had auburn with lighter auburn pieces throughout- but never blonde. I'm quite shocked at how bright and how much they stand out against the rest of the colour. The lighter pieces as well were not started at the root, especially along my hair parting, as you can see in the photos below. This makes them stand out even more, and makes it seem like the colour has already significantly grown out instead of being freshly done. It is done this way throughout, and is very apparent with both my hair down and pulled back. Lastly, I have washed my hair a few times since my appointment on Saturday, and I'm still getting colour washing out every time I shampoo. I've never had this before and I am concerned about the colour washing out and fading faster because of this. As I stated, I've gotten my hair dyed many times before and know what to ask for, what I like, and what to expect. Rumour unfortunately has fallen way short of the mark here. I would like someone to contact me please via email regarding this matter and a refund for the balayage as it is not at all what I asked for or expected.
This is the best salon in Essex been coming here for a 10 years all staff are amazing always kind professional and have never had a bad hair experience always meet your needs and recently today had my hair done today and it looks amazing well done girls one massively happy customer. You are all truly lovely staff and even those training are also really amazing and keen workers highly recommend this salon and really lovely designed salon and top quality products used too 🥰
The best hairdressers I’ve been to. I’m not one to go to hairdressers as I fear they never listen and tend to cut and blow dry however they want, but at Rumour I got the best service, I felt fully heard and my hairdresser ( Holly ) was so sweet, attentive, chatty, she really listened to what I wanted and kept checking how I was feeling through out the appointment. I absolutely loved the cut , the style everything. I’m converted now, I trust holly and I’ll be going back, something I’ve never really done. All the other staff were lovely too.
